Girl's Weekend!

I have a list of things to accomplish today...Mom, Elise and Susan are coming tonight. My momentum was slowed a little when the school called and said Sam wasn't feeling well. Hopefully it's a short-lived problem and he'll be able to have fun with Mom and the girls tomorrow. Should be a fun weekend!

The Pajama Wearing Stalker

Sam has his very own personal peanut-sized pajama wearing stalker. Alex has taken it upon himself to follow Sam everywhere but into the bathroom (which he would do if Sam would allow it). Poor Sam...the minute he comes home from school Alex is right there following Sam's every move. (And have I mentioned that Alex refuses to wear anything but these Christmas pajamas? He will change when we leave the house put the pajamas are immediately put back on when we return. I believe they fall into the "swim suit" obsession category.)
Anyway, Sam is handling the stalker as best as he can. Yesterday I thought he would kill him. I really try to convince Alex to do something else or with me but the kid (just to be difficult) refuses to leave Sam in peace. It's rough around here lately.

The not-so-normal afterschool snack

Everyone in this house loves a good deviled egg. They stink up the house like no other but we all love them. It's one of the most popular after school snacks around here.

"At home Mom"

I've been thinking about this on and off for some time and thought I'd share my thoughts:

I have sisters and sister-in-laws that work and raise a family. They are superwomen to me. How is it possible to do what they do? I don't know...quite overwhelming to think about. So when I feel stressed, tired, or somewhat 'picked-on' I think of how much they are doing and am quickly humbled. I am spoiled rotten to be able to stay home and do laundry any time of the day I wish.

Hind sight is always better...

I recently had the VHS tapes of each of the boys' births copied onto DVDs. We have spent a few evenings watching little tidbits of the 'movies'. The boys love watching themselves as younger dudes. I loved watching them...and yet it made me have regrets. How did I not love every minute with them? They were sooo cute! Spencer cracked us all up...he was such a happy little dude with a mind that never turned off. Sam was sooo darling! He was so quiet and sweet looking! (Although, there were a few moments of crabbiness on the tapes from him that brought us back to reality.)

My point: They were such sweet little guys and I wish I could redo those years with them. Maybe I'd get it right the second time. But...there's always tomorrow and I'm hoping I can be a more patient, kind and loving Mom to them. Most days I want to walk around with ear plugs in. Regardless, I am lucky to have these three little guys in my home.

Such a fun trip. I can't help but already be planning the next one! It is exhausting (Ben is a die-hard) but such a fun time. We loved going with the Galloways!

Airport...all of us had been up since about 4:30 a.m. Boys were excited!

Epcot with the Galloways. We loved traveling with them. They were super easy to be around for 8 days. Kids had a great time together.

Day 1...on our way to Magic Kingdom via Epcot.

The monorail in the morning...3 of these kids were always sleeping on the return trip each night.

Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios...Alex wanted nothing to do with this guy.

Waiting for one of our favorites...Toy Story!

Spencer's birthday dinner at Animal Kingdom's Rainforest Cafe.

Last day at Magic Kingdom.

Rockin' Good Sprite

Before the boys left for school this morning they were discussing what kind of beverage they were going to 'order' on the plane tomorrow. Spencer: orange juice. Sam: "last time I got Sprite...and their Sprite was rockin' good!" I checked us in online...I wonder if there's a way you can pre-order your beverages...
