Our family room is a very active battlefield. Sam and Alex are at eachother's throats like never before. It's driving me crazy.
It is Memorial Day weekend and today was a gorgeous day. We've all been waiting for a weekend like this! Spencer was thrilled to be outside in the sun helping Ben with a few projects. I spent a few hours (and a few thousand dollars...the thought just about makes me want to cry) getting the Honda all prepped for road trips. We also took the boys swimming and had a great time.
Ben is now kicking me off of the computer...to the remote I now go. :)

Update in Pics

* The school year is winding down...and with that comes various school activities for parents to support. Yesterday we were in Sam's classroom watching some presentations. Ben was able to come so that was rare and nice. I still continue to cry when thanking any teacher.
* Alex's first swimming lessons session ended today. Cute little dude passed off his backfloat. He was stiff as a board lieing on the water!
* Another rainy weekend so we headed to Cabellas...not sure why...I guess for the sample of fudge??? Oh...and the gun arcade.
* I braved taking a few of the cub scouts to a service activity. It was fun...just a couple of minor mishaps and me constantly saying "please don't drop the M&M's, crackers, or put your feet on the seats in the car".

Basement Camping
Just as I predicted...the boys returned home early from the Father/Son Campout. The rain was a little much. So...to ease Spencer's disappointment we set-up the tent in the basement. They are on night #3 of sleeping in it. I need to try and get a picture...it's pretty cute. It certainly made putting them to bed at 7:30 (while the sun is still shining) easier!

Ahhhhh!
They say that Heaven is going to be the most glorious place...we will be surrounded by family and loved ones. But this is the Heaven I'm currently enjoying: a quiet, freshly cleaned house, mint Oreos and ice cream waiting and a Friday night with Ben and the boys at the Father/Son campout! I dearly love all four of them and will be happy to see them when they return. However, I'm in my own personal heaven right now...
Note...they will probably return sooner than later...the weather is a complete wash-out. :(

Genius!
Spencer asked me a question today...I can't remember what the question was but it was something very simple. I answered the question and Alex commented "Mom...you're a genius." Now...that is far from the truth! I've always felt I had a little common sense to help me get through life but when it comes to book smarts I'm definitely lacking. But today....and just for a moment...I was a genius!

Finally...Birthday #7
Sam has been waiting for his birthday to come for months. He was checking the mail and praying (literally asking in his prayers) that cards would come two weeks before the day.
Sam was born at 1:44 a.m. on May 13, 2004. 7.1 lbs 19 1/2 in. His birth was dramatic and raising him can be the same. He is growing up and I love the little guy.
He woke up at 5:45 a.m. on his birthday and the fun began! Presents and cards before school. I picked the boys up early from school and surprised them with a trip to Camp Snoopy. Sam had been saying that this is what he wanted to do for his birthday. It made it even better that cousins came with us!!! We got home about 11:15 p.m. and the birthday boy was beyond tired. Super fun day.

OPEN
The trampoline is open for business. It was pouring rain when we started assembling it in the garage one night. The weather has been MN cold until today, so the tramp has been put together in stages. The boys have jumped for many hours regardless of the weather. It is an energy-releasing, arm-breaking, tongue-biting, head-bonking, ankle-twisting activity! First injury was Spencer...he and Sam collided big time. Welcome to the world of trampolines! (It really is sooo ugly.)
