Life Update

It is Sunday morning...Ben is on his way to church and I am eventually on my way to the shower.  ;)  The girls are sleeping and the boys are in KY with Em/Wes.  Ben met Wes is Chicago yesterday and they will be there for two weeks.  They were excited to go and I am grateful to Em/Wes for having them.  We are moving this weekend to the temp. house and it has already made things much easier to finalize packing, etc. without the boys here.  I will miss them for sure and hope they remember to brush their teeth.  ;)

We are adjusting to our new 'normal' in life now.  (Although, I don't really think our 'normal' will come until after we are in the house and semi-unpacked.)  It seems we have lived in limbo forever and I'm ready for some normalcy.  But the past few months have been exciting ones too!

The house is coming along...hopefully be completed by the end of August.  It will be wonderful to have more space!!!  I find myself nit-picking it apart...wishing I had done this instead of that, etc.  All in all...I am grateful we have a wonderful home to move into...even if the dining room has carpet and Spencer's bedroom takes up too much space from the Family Room!  ;)

Mom left this past Tuesday.  I am still going through withdrawal.  I miss her so!  It was so wonderful to have her here...we worked so hard together (she accomplished 75% and I managed 25% on a good day!) but I will always have such great memories of her being here!  She put up with the boys constant whining and fighting like a trooper!  Alex's sassiness drove all of us crazy but the next day Alex asked when she could come back.  ;)  We went on many walks/strolls that were so great for me.  She is an amazing person and I really truly hope to someday be the Mom and Grandmother she is.

It has been almost two weeks since the girls were born.  I was so lucky to have a healthy pregnancy and carry them to 37.3 weeks.  Claire Elise was 4.8 lbs, 17 " and Grace Emily was 5.9 lbs, 19 ".  The c-section was definitely an experience for me.  I knew it (and the recovery) would be different.  However...I was overwhelmed moments before it all began and had to truly 'dig deep' for some calm.  Experiencing them bringing out two baby girls was amazing!!!  Claire went to the special care nursery for 5 hrs for some extra help and monitoring.  But Grace came right to recovery with us and Mom and the boys were able to see her right away.  The boys are in love with the girls...Sam sneaks a kiss before he goes outside...Spencer picks them up to hold for a moment...Alex tries to 'entertain' them by singing or playing music.  And Ben...well...let's just say he would prefer to quit his day job and stay home to hold and talk to them.  ;)

And now we have our sweet Claire and Grace...our home has been 'softened' for sure.  The girls are a testimony to me that Heavenly Father blesses us with things that we don't even know we want!  They are so precious...and obviously I will be taking more pictures than necessary!  ;)  I hope to master how to calm two crying babies at some point...

And that is our life update in a Post...

Note...Alex just called from KY in tears.  Homesick.  My heart is breaking for the little Pistol.
